Video marketing is The Key in 2017
Have you been wondering why videos are being posted now more than ever? And, why social media is dedicating more real estate and priority to videos in their newsfeed by placing videos at the top? For example, on Facebook’s last update, it allows you to keep watching a video while you scroll down your newsfeed by scaling down the video to the bottom corner -Currently 74% of all web’s traffic this year will be focused on video-.
Online marketing is in a constant change and new techniques keep coming along. One of them has been around for a few years passing by inadvertent, and marketers found out that is becoming dramatically important… It is video marketing -Consumption has risen by 800% in the last five years-.
Videos are getting popular because more people are using their mobile phones to access the internet, and as you guys might know, mobile internet has increased its speed in a huge way; thanks to this, we can share and play video at any time on the go, making it ideal for marketing campaigns. Especially amongst the younger crowd (90% of video consumers) who spent a big part of the day on it and half of them make the decision to buy just by watching.
Did you know that 75% of business executives watch work-related videos at least once per week? So, why don’t create a video marketing campaign for them in order to captivate their attention and lead them to get your services or products; or even better, solve their issues? As you can see videos are for everyone, from consumers to business executives; you just have to select the correct target and make a video that fits the platform(s) you choose for distribution based on your strategy and where your target audience lives (E.G. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Whatsapp etc.).
Video marketing is important because it helps you connect easier with your audience, it improves engagement. We are hardwired to watch objects in motion and that’s what videos are. This year, 2017, 96% of B2B (Business to business) companies are planning to use video in their content marketing in order to reach clients and effectively convey their value proposition. To capture your audience’s attention and do it correctly, you have less than 8 seconds (around 20 words) for initial interest to keep them watching and no more than 2 minutes to explain your solution to their problem.
Lastly and no less important, is incredible that the word video in the subject of your email will yield an increase of 300% click-through rate and reduce unsubscribes by 26%, when you don’t use the word or have video in your content.
